About the Role We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Senior Merchandising Manager to join our Product Merchandising team on a 12-month maternity leave contract. This is a key leadership role responsible for developing and executing merchandising strategies that balance customer needs, brand direction and commercial performance. You’ll use data, market insights and customer behaviour to shape our product assortment, pricing, promotional and channel strategies, while identifying opportunities to maximise sales, margin and inventory productivity.
Working closely with Product Development, Inventory, Marketing, Visual Merchandising, E-commerce, Retail and our supplier partners, you’ll lead the end-to-end seasonal merchandising cycle - from newness and range planning through to trading, replenishment and clearance.

What You’ll Do - Develop and lead comprehensive merchandising strategies aligned to Coco Republic’s brand, customer and commercial objectives
- Own category and product assortment strategies, including range architecture, pricing, promotional and channel strategies
- Analyse sales, customer and market data to identify trends, risks and opportunities and translate insights into commercial action
- Lead weekly trading and performance reporting, providing clear visibility of performance against budget and key drivers
- Evaluate newness performance, sell-through, demand and product lifecycle to inform future range and investment decisions
- Identify opportunities to optimise SKU counts, product productivity and inventory investment
- Own the weekly floorstock open-to-buy process, ensuring orders are aligned to sales plans, store capacity, seasonal requirements and available budget
- Lead seasonal floorstock transitions, ensuring new launches, replenishment, promotional activity and end-of-season clearance are effectively planned and executed
- Lead markdown and clearance strategies to maximise sell-through and commercial returns while protecting brand integrity
- Partner closely with Product Development, Inventory, Marketing, Visual Merchandising, E-commerce and Retail to deliver cohesive and commercially successful product strategies
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and partners to support product assortment, sourcing and commercial outcomes
- Champion data integrity across product, pricing, inventory and launch systems, ensuring accurate information supports effective trading decisions
- Lead, coach and develop the merchandising team, setting clear expectations and fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement
Who You Are - 7+ years’ experience in merchandising, buying, category management or a similar commercial role
- Strong commercial acumen with a proven ability to translate data and insights into action
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with complex commercial data
- Strong understanding of retail merchandising principles, including assortment planning, pricing, promotions, inventory and OTB management
- Strong understanding of customer behaviour, market trends and product lifecycle management
- Experienced in newness, product drops, seasonal launches and end-to-end trading cycles
- Highly organised, analytical and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A confident leader who can develop, motivate and empower a high-performing team
- Strong communicator and influencer who can build effective relationships across a broad range of stakeholders
