About the role
Pacific Marine Group Pty Ltd (PMG) is a leading marine contractor based in Townsville, Queensland known for its excellence in the Maritime Industry across Northern Australia and the Pacific Rim. With a team of around 180 people, we specialise in Maintenance, Marine Diving, and Construction, handling projects both on-site and off-site.
Role overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Metal Fabricator/Boilermaker to support our operations in Townsville as our project pipeline continues to grow across Australia, the Coral Sea and the Pacific Rim. Fantastic opportunities for workshop-based and project work both locally and across the Pacific Rim where you will gain exposure to a wide range of fabrication and boiler making tasks.
The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, repairing, and maintaining structural steel and metal components in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and workplace safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Fabricate and assemble structural steel components and equipment
Perform welding, cutting, grinding, fitting, and fabrication tasks
Read and interpret workshop drawings, plans, and specifications.
Conduct repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities
Ensure all work is completed to quality, safety, and industry standards
Work collaboratively with supervisors and other trades personnel
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Requirements (Mandatory):
Certificate IV in Engineering, Fabrication or equivalent
At least three (3) years' work experience in fabrication/welding
Requirements (Desirable):
Knowledge of AutoCAD
Demonstrated experience in structural and/or maintenance welding
Exposure to Aluminium fabrication & welding
Ability to confidently interpret and work from fabrication drawings
Capable of working independently or as part of a team
Commitment to high safety standards
