Mechanical Fitter – Tunnel Ventilation Systems

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to support the installation of tunnel ventilation systems, including large axial fans, attenuators, dampers, and associated mechanical equipment.

You will be part of a high-performing site team delivering complex mechanical installations in a live rail infrastructure environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and assemble mechanical equipment including fans, ducting, dampers, and support structures

• Interpret drawings, specifications, and installation procedures

• Carry out alignment, bolting, and mechanical fit-up activities

• Work closely with Supervisors and Engineers to ensure quality outcomes

• Perform pre-start checks and ensure tools/equipment are fit for purpose

• Adhere to all safety procedures and project requirements

• Participate in QA/QC processes including inspections

About You

• Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter or equivalent

• Experience in heavy mechanical installation projects (ideally infrastructure or industrial)

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

• Experience working in construction or rail/tunnel environments (highly regarded)

• Strong focus on safety and quality

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

• White Card (mandatory)
