We are seeking an enthusiastic and analytical Head Office Accountant to support our corporate function. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role offers a broad mix of financial accounting, reporting and operational support.
About the role
You'll take ownership of core month end activities while partnering with key stakeholders across the business to ensure financial information is accurate, meaningful and delivered on time.
Key responsibilities include:
· Support and lead monthly close activities for all corporate entities, ensuring journals, accruals, prepayments, and adjustments are accurately recorded
· Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards, including IFRS and AASB.
· Managing the Group Intercompany process end to end and monitoring associated cost allocations
· Completing timely balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining reporting integrity
· Supporting the preparation and submission of BAS and IAS returns.
· Supporting the preparation of FBT submissions across the Group.
· Assisting with statutory reporting and compliance requirements
· Supporting a culture of continual process improvements and finance initiatives across the team
· Partnering with operational stakeholders to provide financial support and resolve queries
· Collaborate with FP&A, operational and other corporate departments to ensure accurate financial data and reporting.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
· Accounting degree and CPA/CA qualification
· 3-5 years accounting experience
· Experience within a commercial finance role or first mover from Audit or Business Services
· Exposure to multi-entity and/or multi-cost centre environments
· Knowledge of Intercompany accounting, reconciliations, payment processes and controls
· Demonstrated knowledge of ATO reporting requirements and state payroll tax reporting
· Proficiency with financial systems and standard software applications
· Strong Excel skills and confidence working with accounting systems
· Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
· Strong stakeholder management skills
