As a Plumber within our Defence Base Services contract, you'll play an important role maintaining essential water, sewer, drainage and gas infrastructure across Simpson Barracks. About The Role

No two days are the same. You'll perform a combination of planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across a busy Defence site, helping to keep critical infrastructure operating safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities Include

Maintaining and repairing plumbing systems and associated infrastructureWorking on water, sewer, drainage and gas systemsDiagnosing faults and completing repairs efficientlyConducting planned and reactive maintenance activitiesCompleting inspections, testing and compliance documentationPerforming water treatment testing and system adjustmentsWorking closely with supervisors, subcontractors and other tradesMaintaining high standards of safety, quality and customer serviceParticipating in after-hours call outs when required

Cert III in Plumbing Required (Cert IV desirable but not essential)Experience within a maintenance environment undertaking planned and reactive worksStrong fault-finding and troubleshooting skillsAbility to work independently and manage changing prioritiesCommitment to safety, compliance and quality workmanshipStrong communication and teamwork skillsCurrent driver's licence

Desirable

Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licenceChlorine Gas Handling experienceExperience working within Defence, government, industrial or large commercial environments

Important Requirements

Due to the nature of this Defence contract, applicants must be Australian Citizens and be eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.

The successful candidate will also be required to complete a pre-employment medical and police check.
