Schools Officer

Yuleba State School is seeking a reliable, proactive and community-minded Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities to help maintain our school grounds and facilities to a high standard. This role plays an important part in creating a safe, welcoming and well-presented environment that supports student learning and staff wellbeing.

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.26FTE), 20 hours per fortnight.

About the Role:

Working closely with the Principal and school staff, the successful applicant will undertake a variety of duties including grounds maintenance, mowing, gardening, minor repairs, facility set-up, rubbish removal, receiving deliveries, and assisting with the day-to-day operational needs of the school. The role also supports workplace health and safety requirements and helps ensure school facilities remain safe and functional.

Part-time: 10 hours per week.  Flexible arrangements may be negotiated to meet operational requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain school grounds, gardens, sporting fields, buildings and facilities to a high standard.
• Perform repairs, preventative maintenance and coordinate contractors and service providers.
• Support school operations through room setup, mail delivery, stock control, asset management and security.
• Operate and maintain grounds equipment, irrigation systems and other facilities infrastructure.
• Ensure workplace health and safety compliance by identifying hazards, maintaining equipment and following safe work practices.
• Assist with school events, waste management and emergency cleaning when required.
• Liaise with school leadership, staff, contractors and the wider community to support the effective operation of school facilities.
• Contribute to facilities planning, budgeting, procurement and continuous improvement projects while maintaining accurate records.
