Group Details:

The Global Database Engineering & Operations Group within the Tradeweb Technology Platform division is responsible for the entire database estate, with provision of extremely high levels of availability for the production, test & development systems to the dealers, customers and internal Tradeweb users.

Job Responsibilities:

Monitoring database availability, identifying potential problems, proposing ways to optimize availability & scalability.Working with the Infrastructure and line of business technology teams to architect and implement new technologies and strategiesManaging data backup and restores required for disaster recovery.Installation of new servers, and upgrade of existing servers with regard to patches and new versions.The provision of extremely high levels of availability for the Production systems. Resolution of any problems in these systems in a timely and professional manner.Ensuring compliance with company security procedures. Automation of regular / recurring tasksParticipate fully in the team’s 24x5½ “follow the sun” support model with daily hand-over / hand-off calls to colleagues in U.S. / U.K. respectively, as well as occasional weekend work & scheduled on-call duties

Required Qualifications:

College degree in computer science or a related discipline, or an equivalent level of technical knowledge required.8+ years of administration & development experience in MS SQL Server (2019/2022)5+ years supporting a complex, large-scale, high transactional volume system to very high levels of availability 5+ years of writing ad-hoc T-SQL queries and authoring/debugging stored procedures, functions and triggers4+ years of using PowerShell to streamline and automate frequent/recurring tasksHands-on experience of database schema and code release processesExperience of evaluating query performance and implementing changes/strategies to improve it Experience building and supporting SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability GroupsExperience of supporting Development / QA / TechOps teams to assist with data maintenance and query building4+ years supporting all types of SQL Server replicationExperience of creating and maintaining SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages for data extraction, transformation & loadingAn understanding of the fixed income / derivatives / equity markets and the financial instruments that trade on themExperience with MS SQL Server on SAN’sExperience using Red Gate MonitorExperience using Red Gate Flyway EnterpriseAny experience of Oracle, PostgreSQL or Cassandra highly desirable
