Shire Liaison Officer

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Shire Liaison Officer to join a well-established and highly regarded residential building company in Perth.

This is a key role within the business, responsible for managing the approval process and acting as the link between the builder, clients, consultants and local authorities. You’ll play an important part in keeping projects moving by ensuring documentation, applications and approvals are handled accurately and efficiently.

The Role

You will be responsible for coordinating and managing applications through various Shires and Councils, following up approvals and ensuring projects progress in line with required timeframes.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and lodging building applications and relevant documentation
• Liaising with Shires, Councils and other relevant authorities
• Following up applications and managing approval timeframes
• Coordinating with internal drafting, estimating and construction teams
• Reviewing plans and documentation to ensure requirements are met
• Responding to queries and resolving issues throughout the approval process
• Maintaining accurate records and keeping stakeholders updated

About You

We’re looking for someone with previous experience in Shire/Council liaison, building approvals or a similar residential construction administration role.

You’ll be highly organised, detail-focused and confident communicating with both internal teams and external authorities. A good understanding of the WA residential building approval process, R-Codes and relevant regulations will be highly regarded.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who takes ownership, follows things through and knows how to keep projects moving.
