About The Role

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides expert clinical advice to patients, carers and other health care professionals within a defined specialty through the delivery of specialist consultant service which:

Develops implements and evaluates care management plans for patients with complex health needsAre skilled in assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic intervention, and risk management. Provides leadership in the ongoing development of clinical practiceInitiates and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical services.Contributes to the development and delivery of specialty related education programsParticipates in formal processes for the strategic and operational planning for the clinical service.Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and in partnership with headspace, families, GPs, and community services.

Ideal Candidate

Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience.Holds approved postgraduate qualifications relevant to the specialty or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriateDemonstrated leadership skills and excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
