Container Repairer/Labourer

About the role

This is a practical role working both in the workshop and outdoors preparing, cleaning, refurbishing and carrying out minor repairs to shipping containers.

Key responsibilities

• Container washing and cleaning using a high pressure hose

• Surface preparation using an angle grinder

• Floor sanding and preparation of container floors

• Minor container repairs, including door seals and removal of nails, tape and glue

• Following workplace health and safety (OHS) procedures and using the required PPE

• Keeping your work area clean, organised and safe

About you

• Enjoy hands on work outdoors

• Is reliable and punctual, with a strong attendance record and positive attitude

• Is physically fit and capable of a demanding role

• Takes pride in their work, pays attention to detail and gets the job done properly

• Understands the importance of workplace health and safety and follows procedures

• Is comfortable using tools and equipment and willing to learn

• Can work independently and part of a close knit team

• Can pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test

• Previous experience in container repairs, painting, fabrication, maintenance, labouring or similar environment is an advantage but a good attitude and willingness to learn are just as important
