About the role

Pixo Painting Services is seeking a skilled and dedicated Painting and Decorating professional to join our growing team in Sydney, NSW. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse commercial projects across the Sydney metropolitan area. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality painting and decorating services that meet our clients' exacting standards and contribute to the reputation Pixo has built for excellence and professionalism.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing surfaces including sanding, cleaning, filling, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality

• Applying paint and decorative finishes using various techniques and equipment, including brushes, rollers, and spray application systems

• Selecting and mixing paint colours and finishes in accordance with client specifications and design requirements

• Protecting surrounding areas and fixtures using protective coverings and masking techniques

• Conducting quality checks throughout the project to ensure work meets industry standards and client expectations

• Maintaining accurate records of project progress, materials used, and time spent on each assignment

• Adhering to health and safety regulations and maintaining a clean and safe work environment

• Collaborating with team members and project managers to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget

• Providing professional advice to clients regarding paint selection, surface preparation, and project timelines

What we're looking for

• Formal qualifications or comprehensive training in painting and decorating, or equivalent demonstrated experience in the building trades

• Proven experience of at least 2-3 years working as a painter and decorator on residential and/or commercial projects

• Proficiency in surface preparation techniques and familiarity with various paint types and application methods

• Knowledge of current health and safety regulations relevant to painting and decorating work

• Ability to read and interpret project specifications, colour charts, and technical documentation

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering work of the highest quality

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team

• Reliability, punctuality, and a professional approach to customer service

• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to various job sites across Sydney

• Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one

• Preferred: experience with specialised decorative techniques, knowledge of colour theory, or a portfolio of previous work
