The Opportunity
Join a leading financial services organisation in a role that will strengthen your portfolio legal career with a highly respected business.
Duration: 6-12 months Arrangement: Full time (hybrid) Location: Sydney
About You
You are a seasoned regulatory/compliance lawyer with a minimum of 8 years' experience, bringing a strong track record from private practice or in-house roles within large organisations.
Your Experience & Expertise:
Experience as a financial services compliance/regulatory lawyer, ideally gained in private practice, in-house, or within a financial services organisationDemonstrated experience advising on compliance obligations in a financial services environmentAbility to identify, interpret and apply legal and regulatory obligations relevant to financial services businessesStrong knowledge of the Corporations Act, particularly as it relates to financial services, corporate conduct, disclosure, governance and compliance obligationsExperience documenting compliance frameworks, policies, procedures, controls and obligation registersAbility to implement compliance frameworks in a practical business environment, including working with operational teams to embed legal and regulatory requirementsExperience advising internal stakeholders on regulatory risk, compliance breaches, remediation issues and governance processes
Your Skills & Attributes:
Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess complex legal and regulatory issues quicklyCommercial judgement and the ability to balance legal risk with business objectivesProactive and solutions-focused approach to legal and compliance issuesStrong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing prioritiesAdaptability and confidence operating in a fast-moving financial services environment
