About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a recent or soon-to-be graduate in Building Surveying to gain practical, hands-on experience while working alongside experienced building professionals. The role is aimed at individuals seeking to take the next step to gain employment in the industry.As a Cadet Building Surveyor, you'll support the Municipal Building Surveying team in assessing applications, undertaking inspections, providing technical advice and helping ensure building compliance across the municipality.This role provides an excellent pathway to develop your technical knowledge, regulatory understanding and professional capability within local government.
What You’ll deliver Assist in the assessment of building-related applications, including Report and Consent, Hoarding Permits and Occupancy Permit mattersSupport building compliance activities and inspectionsProvide advice and information to residents, industry professionals and Council staffMaintain accurate records, files and corporate data systemsDeliver timely and professional customer service responsesPositively contribute to an innovative, collaborative and high-performing team cultureWhat You’ll Bring Completion or near completion of an Advanced Diploma of Building Surveying or Bachelor of Building SurveyingA genuine passion for building regulation, compliance and public serviceStrong communication and customer service skillsAbility to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively within a teamSound attention to detail and administrative skillsCurrent Victorian Driver LicenceWillingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check
