Be part of one of Australia's largest infrastructure projects and play a key role in shaping positive workplace relations outcomes across a complex construction environment.

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Industrial Relations Advisor to join the FGJV team. Working closely with project leaders, employees, subcontractors, unions and key stakeholders, you'll provide trusted IR advice and support to ensure compliance, drive best practice, and contribute to a productive workforce.

About the Role

As the Industrial Relations Advisor, you will provide expert guidance on industrial relations matters across both blue-collar and white-collar workforces. You'll partner with project teams to navigate workplace issues, interpret industrial instruments, manage compliance requirements, and support the successful delivery of project objectives.

You will play an important role in maintaining positive workplace relationships while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, enterprise agreements, awards and project-specific industrial frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advice and support on industrial relations matters, including the interpretation of legislation, awards, enterprise agreements and employment contracts.
• Partner with project leaders and managers to address workplace issues, employee relations matters and dispute resolution.
• Support payroll and workforce teams with the application of industrial instruments and complex payroll enquiries.
• Manage union right of entry processes and maintain professional relationships with union representatives.
• Provide first response support during industrial incidents and assist with industrial risk mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate subcontractor pre-qualification audits and workforce mobilisation activities.
• Monitor and support compliance obligations across the project and subcontractor workforce.
• Deliver training and coaching to managers and employees on HR and IR related topics.
• Assist in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of workplace policies, procedures and systems.
• Prepare employment contracts, correspondence and other employment-related documentation.
• Support performance management, disciplinary matters, probation reviews, issue resolution and return-to-work processes.
• Identify emerging workplace risks and develop practical solutions to minimise industrial and employment relations issues.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support project success.

About You

You are a confident and relationship-focused professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You can balance compliance requirements with practical business outcomes and are comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

To be successful, you will have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Organisational Psychology, Law or a related discipline (preferred).
• A White Card.
• At least 1 year of experience in an Industrial Relations, Employee Relations or Human Resources role, ideally within the construction, infrastructure or project environment.
• Strong knowledge of the Fair Work Act and Australian industrial relations frameworks.
• Experience interpreting Awards, Enterprise Agreements and employment contracts.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong problem-solving capability and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment.
• High attention to detail and strong administration skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
