About the role
Assistant in Nursing / Enrolled Nurse – Busy Allergy Clinic
Employment Type: Full-Time
Classification: Healthcare & Medical – Nursing
About Us
We are a well-established, busy allergy clinic with a happy, close-knit team that genuinely enjoys working together. We support patients through allergy testing, immunotherapy, and ongoing management in a fast-paced but rewarding clinical environment.
## About the Role
We're looking for an Assistant in Nursing (AIN) or Enrolled Nurse (EN) to join our friendly team in a role that combines clinical support with front-desk reception duties. This is a varied, hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys patient interaction, takes pride in clear communication, and thrives in a busy practice.
You'll be the first point of contact for many of our patients — greeting them at reception, answering calls, and managing appointments — while also providing clinical support to our nursing and medical team throughout the day.
What You'll Be Doing
- Welcoming patients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing patient records at the front desk
- Assisting nursing and medical staff with allergy testing procedures and immunotherapy
- Monitoring patients during clinical procedures
- Preparing and maintaining consulting rooms and clinical areas
- Processing correspondence, referrals, and general administrative tasks
- Ensuring infection control standards are maintained
- Providing a warm, professional experience for every patient
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (AIN) or Diploma of Nursing (EN)
- Current AHPRA registration (if Enrolled Nurse)
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills — this role involves significant patient interaction, phone communication, and accurate medical record-keeping
- A warm, professional manner with patients of all ages and backgrounds
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask between clinical and reception duties
- A genuine team player who contributes to a positive, supportive workplace
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
- Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn practice management software
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a medical reception or front-desk role
- Experience in an allergy, immunology, or specialist clinic
- Familiarity with practice management systems (e.g., Best Practice, Medical Director, Genie)
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
What We Offer
- A happy, close-knit team that genuinely enjoys working together
- Variety in your daily work — clinical and administrative
- Opportunity to develop specialised skills in allergy and immunology
- Stable, full-time hours in a thriving practice
- On-the-job training in allergy-specific procedures
