Mental Health Support Worker

Our support work is about helping people discover their passions and talents and supporting the development of those things.  With multiple Support Worker positions available, we are looking for compassionate, dedicated people who are ready to make a real impact in the lives of others.  We are also seeking someone with the below experience.  

We are seeking Female Support Worker (Ages 30–45)

We are looking for a reliable, compassionate and qualified female support worker to provide NDIS support.

Ability to be available for the following hours: (can be shared role)

Tuesday: 8:30am – 4:30pm

Friday: 8:30am to approximately 4:30pm–6:00pm (depending on appointments)

Sat & Sun: 8:30am – 3:00pm

Essential Requirements:

• NDIS experience and understanding
• Certificate IV in Community Services, Mental Health, Disability or a higher qualification preferred
• Demonstrated experience supporting people with mental health conditions and complex support needs
• Understanding of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practice
• Current Working With Children Check & Police Check
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
• Valid Driver's Licence & full comprehensive car insurance
• Own reliable vehicle

Support Required:

• Household tasks and domestic assistance
• Community access and social support
• Transport to appointments and activities
• Support attending local and Melbourne CBD medical and specialist appointments
• Assistance with shopping and errands
• Support walking and caring for my dog
• Support with recreational activities and outings
• Support in the classroom while attending TAFE
• Assistance with study skills, organisation, note-taking, and homework support
• Encouragement to achieve educational and personal goals
• Support to maintain independence and build confidence
• Emotional support and encouragement within professional boundaries
• Daily routine and schedule support
• Must be dog-friendly and comfortable around dogs
• Must treat both myself and my dog with kindness, care, and respect
• Must be reliable, trustworthy, and respectful
• Must maintain professional boundaries and communication
• Must be comfortable supporting someone with complex needs
• Reliable 

About the person:

I am 39 years old. I have complex mental health and physical health support needs and am seeking someone who is patient, respectful, professional and person-centred in their approach. I am currently studying part-time and would like a support worker who can assist me both in the community and with my educational goals.
