We are looking for an experienced Solar Roofer, Solar Installer or Electrical Apprentice with strong solar installation experience to join our team.

About the Role

You will work alongside experienced electricians and installers on residential and commercial solar and battery projects.

The successful applicant should have around two years of hands-on solar installation experience, or equivalent practical experience, and must be capable of independently completing the roof-side component of a solar installation.

This includes checking the proposed panel layout, measuring and marking the roof, installing mounting systems, rails and panels, and ensuring the roof installation is completed safely, neatly and accurately.

Work locations vary daily and include sites across metropolitan Melbourne, with occasional travel to regional Victoria.

Key Responsibilities

• Checking proposed solar panel layouts against actual roof conditions

• Measuring and accurately marking roofs for panel installation

• Installing brackets, mounting systems, rails and solar panels

• Making practical layout adjustments where required

• Completing the roof-side installation independently

• Working safely on tiled and metal roofs

• Installing panels in tight or difficult roof spaces

• Working alongside apprentices and installation assistants

• Preparing and carrying installation materials

• Lifting and handling solar panels and battery modules

• Maintaining clean, safe and organised worksites

• Assisting with DC cabling and electrical work under appropriate supervision, where applicable

• Following company procedures and workplace safety requirements

Essential Requirements

• Around two years of hands-on solar installation experience, or equivalent practical experience

• Ability to independently complete the roof-side component of a solar installation

• Strong experience with roof measurements, panel layouts, mounting systems, rails and panel installation

• Confidence working safely on residential roofs and at heights

• Physically fit and capable of lifting solar panels and battery modules

• Current White Card

• Current Working at Heights certification

• Current driver’s licence

• Own reliable vehicle to travel to different job sites

• Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

• Full Australian working rights

Applicants living in Melbourne’s eastern or south-eastern suburbs will be preferred.

Applicants must also hold, or be willing to obtain immediately:

• Working Safely in the Solar Industry certification
