About the Opportunity

DVNQ has secured additional funding to expand its work in strengthening practice capability and service quality across organisations participating in the North Queensland DFV Networked Hub.

We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Community and Sector Development Facilitator (Level 5) with experience in domestic and family violence practice to join our team in Townsville.

As part of our Prevention Team, you will play a key role in driving meaningful change across Townsville and surrounding regions. Working collaboratively with services, community stakeholders, and the broader sector, you will deliver training, capacity-building initiatives, worker wellbeing activities, and community education and awareness campaigns that strengthen responses to domestic and family violence.

This is a Fixed Term Full-Time position until the 30 June 2028 classified as SCHADS Award Level 5.  

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate continuous improvement in practice and quality of DFV service delivery across the new NQ Networked Hub.
• Develop and coordinate delivery of a localised training and awareness campaigns to support identification, assessment and response of DFV.
• Develop and maintain practice resources, decision-support tools and guidance materials to support consistent and high-quality DFV practice across the region.
• Establish and facilitate Communities of Practice and shared learning opportunities that promote collaboration, reflective practice, and continuous improvement.
• Support the development and implementation of peer supervision and reflective practice frameworks.
• Facilitate psychosocial safety initiatives that promote practitioner wellbeing and address the impacts of vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, and burnout.
• Support the DV Action Groups and Networks including administration for meetings and coordination of actions across the Townsville Region.
• Support development of service systems, identify areas for improved service response and take action, or escalate through Domestic Violence Integrated Response (DVIR) Partnership or within DVNQ management structure. 
• Provide information sessions to enhance service system coordination and integrated responses to DFV.
• Participate in community development and social action activities to raise awareness of Domestic and Family Violence in the community, especially during Domestic Violence Prevention Month and the 16 Days of Activism.
• Liaise and build connections and networks as appropriate, to establish and maintain referral pathways.
• Support and develop initiatives and activities as part of the Townsville DVIR Partnership.

Selection Criteria

To be considered, you will need to meet the following criteria:

Qualifications and Experience

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant human services field and/or a minimum of five years’ experience in the human services sector.
• Experience and knowledge working in or with the Domestic and Family Violence sector including current legislation and best practice frameworks.

• High level of digital literacy and experience with client record-keeping systems.

Mandatory Requirements

• Current QLD C Class Driver’s Licence.
• Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
• Australia: National Police Check Clearance – at organisation’s expense.
