Payroll Administrator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team at our Lockwood site on a 12-month fixed-term basis to provide maternity leave coverage. This is a hands-on payroll position responsible for supporting the accurate, timely and compliant processing of payroll across Hazeldenes' workforce. Working closely with Payroll, Finance, HR and operational leaders, you will manage payroll inputs, employee records, leave, deductions, superannuation and employee queries while ensuring payroll information is accurate, confidential and compliant with legislative requirements. The role will suit someone who is comfortable working in a busy, high-volume environment, enjoys solving payroll queries and takes pride in accuracy, organisation and getting things right the first time.

Key responsibilities

• Process weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll activities accurately and within required timeframes

• Verify timesheets, leave, overtime, allowances, deductions and other payroll inputs

• Process employee payments, adjustments, bonuses and termination payments

• Maintain accurate employee and payroll records across payroll and ERP systems

• Support new starter payroll setup and maintain employee payment and personal information

• Respond to employee queries relating to wages, payslips, deductions, leave and superannuation

• Process annual leave, personal leave, long service leave and other employee entitlements

• Administer salary sacrifice arrangements, novated leases and other payroll-related benefits

• Ensure compliance with PAYG, superannuation, Fair Work requirements and relevant payroll legislation

• Support payroll reconciliations, reporting and general ledger integration

About you

• Previous experience in a Payroll Administrator, Payroll Officer or similar payroll position

• Experience processing payroll in a medium-to-large or high-volume workforce environment

• Sound understanding of Australian payroll legislation, PAYG, superannuation and employee entitlements

• Experience interpreting timesheets, overtime, allowances, deductions and leave

• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies

• Confidence responding to employee payroll queries professionally and accurately

• Strong computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Excel and payroll/ERP systems

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet strict payroll deadlines

• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential employee information appropriately

• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across Payroll, HR, Finance and Operations
