A two-year supported residency offering hands-on clinical experience, professional development and opportunities in research and quality improvement.
A unique opportunity for a Pharmacist to join the Princess Alexandra Hospital Pharmacy Department and undertake a supported, accredited two-year residency program. Gain broad clinical experience, work alongside multidisciplinary teams and develop your skills in a leading tertiary healthcare and teaching environment. This role is Temporary Full-time up to 2 years.

As an HP3 Pharmacist Resident, you will provide patient-centred pharmacy services across a range of clinical and operational areas while completing a structured two-year residency program. You'll work under the guidance of experienced pharmacists and progressively develop your clinical independence, leadership and service improvement skills. You will:
Deliver clinical pharmacy services including medication histories, medication reviews, therapeutic interventions and discharge planning.Rotate through diverse pharmacy practice areas across a major tertiary hospital.Provide medicines information, patient counselling and education to healthcare professionals, patients and carers.Participate in multidisciplinary teams, clinical case conferences and quality improvement activities.

Apply clinical knowledge and evidence-based practice across a range of pharmacy settings.Communicate effectively with patients, carers and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.Demonstrate initiative in learning, professional development and building clinical expertise.Contribute to education, quality improvement, research and service development activities.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.
We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.
We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
