Maintenance - Grounds keeper & Cleaner

About the role

You will work as part of a two-man maintenance team, alongside another young staff member, to ensure the centre is ready for the day and maintained to a high standard. The position includes early-morning yard preparation, daily handyman repairs and small carpentry tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Early-morning yard cleaning from 6:00am, including blowing pathways, tidying outdoor areas and ensuring all yards are safe and presentable

• Daily handyman repairs, such as fixing gates, replacing hinges, tightening fixtures, repairing toys and equipment

• Small carpentry projects, including building or repairing shelving, small structures, storage solutions and general woodwork

• General maintenance across the centre (walkways, staff areas, outdoor spaces)

• Assisting with event setup or additional tasks when required

• Working collaboratively within a two-man team and with the Centre's operations and leadership team

About you

• Experience in maintenance, handyman work or carpentry

• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team

• Reliable, punctual and comfortable with early starts

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Blue Card (or willingness to obtain one)

• Child Safety Training (provided during onboarding)

• National Police Check (required for child-safe recruitment)

• A positive attitude and commitment to maintaining a safe environment for children
