Are you an experienced Veterinary Nurse who can confidently walk into a clinic, hit the ground running, and provide immediate support to busy teams?

Greencross is looking for an experienced and capable Casual Locum Veterinary Nurse to support our clinics across the Brisbane West Region.

This is a unique opportunity for a nurse who enjoys variety, flexibility, and the chance to work with multiple teams while making a genuine difference. We're looking for someone who can confidently step into different clinic environments, adapt quickly, work independently, and provide experienced nursing support whenever our teams need an extra pair of hands.

You'll become a valued member of our Brisbane West nursing community, supporting clinics during periods of leave, high demand, and additional staffing requirements.

About the Role

As a Casual Locum Veterinary Nurse, you'll be relied upon to provide experienced nursing support across a range of clinic environments.

We're looking for someone who can confidently integrate into existing teams and contribute from day one, often with minimal supervision.

Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting veterinarians during consultations, diagnostics, treatments, and proceduresPreparing patients for surgery and assisting in theatreMonitoring anaesthesia and supporting post-operative recoveryAdministering medications and treatmentsCollecting samples and performing diagnostic testingProviding hospital and inpatient careAssisting with emergency and urgent care cases when requiredMaintaining patient records and treatment plansProviding exceptional client communication and educationSupporting reception and administrative duties when neededMaintaining hygiene, infection control, and clinical standards throughout the clinicAbout You

We're looking for someone who:

Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)Has 2 - 3 + years of clinical veterinary nursing experienceIs confident across medical, surgical, and hospital nursingCan work independently and use initiativeIs comfortable stepping into unfamiliar clinic environments and adapting quicklyHas excellent anaesthetic monitoring skillsDemonstrates strong communication and customer service skillsIs organised, reliable, and professionalEnjoys working collaboratively with a variety of teamsHolds a current driver's licence and reliable transportIs willing to travel between clinics throughout the Brisbane West RegionMost importantly, you're an experienced nurse who can confidently walk into a clinic, support the team, and provide outstanding patient care without missing a beat.
