Underground Electricians and Trade Assistants

About the role

You will be part of a skilled, collaborative, culture-driven team supporting critical underground mining operations. Your work will focus on mining electrical maintenance, collaborate with supervisors and other trades to support daily production and maintenance activities, with opportunities to expand your technical skills in a range of underground electrical systems and projects. Accepting Local Based-Kalgoorlie or FIFO.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair underground electrical systems LV to HV, including power, lighting, communication systems and control circuits

• Diagnose and fault-find electrical issues to minimise downtime and keep operations running safely and reliable for operations

• Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on underground equipment

• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, procedures, and electrical standards

• Complete job documentation, reports, and isolation procedures accurately and on time

About you

• WA Electrical Workers Licence (essential)

• Current WA C-Class manual licence (essential)

• National Police Clearance (issued within the last 12 months)

• Working at Heights (essential)

• Current first aid certificate and CPR (essential)

• Byrnecut site Inductions (desirable)

• HV Switching (desirable)

• Sound fault finding and diagnostic skills

• Ability to work independently and solve problems

• Previous experience working as an electrician in an underground mining environment (desirable)

• Local based Kalgoorlie or FIFO

Other roles needed: Trades Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist electricians with underground electrical installation and maintenance.

• Support cable pulling, electrical reticulation and equipment installation.

• Assist with breakdowns and general underground maintenance.

• Transport tools, equipment and materials underground.

• Maintain housekeeping and safe work areas.

• Follow site safety procedures, permits and supervisor instructions.

Requirements:

• Previous underground mining or Trade Assistant experience preferred.

• Current Driver’s Licence.

• Working at Heights and Confined Space tickets desirable.

• Ability to pass medical and Drug & Alcohol Screen.

• Local based Kalgoorlie or FIFO
