About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Mid-Term Planning Mining Engineer to join our team as a Software Implementation Consultant. This role bridges mine planning expertise with technology delivery, supporting mining operations in the successful implementation, configuration, and optimisation of mine planning and scheduling software solutions.

You will work closely with mine planning teams, technical services, and software developers to ensure tools are aligned with operational realities and business objectives.

This role is based from our Perth CBD office. Regular domestic travel and on-call availability is a requirement of this role.

Key Responsibilities

Lead or support the implementation of mid-term mine planning and scheduling software at client sitesTranslate operational requirements into practical software configurations and workflowsConfigure, test, and validate planning models, schedules, and optimisation outputsProvide technical guidance and best-practice advice on mid-term planning methodologiesTrain and support mine planning engineers and planners in the effective use of software toolsAssist with data preparation, model validation, and scenario analysisSupport change management by aligning software solutions with existing planning processesIdentify opportunities for workflow improvement and value creation through technology

Required Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline5+ years’ experience in mine planning with a strong focus on mid-term planningHands-on experience with mine planning and scheduling software (e.g. Deswik, MineSched, XPAC, Datamine, or similar)Strong understanding of mining methods, sequencing, constraints, and production targetsExperience supporting or leading software implementations or system rolloutsAbility to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Desirable Skills

Consulting or client-facing experienceExposure to multiple commodities and mining methodsExperience working with optimisation and scenario-based planning tools
