Department of Justice and Community Safety
About the role
About us
Corrections Victoria manages Victoria's prisons and community correctional services.
Tarrengower Prison is a minimum-security prison near Maldon for up to 72 women. It focuses on rehabilitation, release preparation and support for women returning to the community.
The prison supports mothers to maintain family connections and values cultural diversity. It respects each woman's religious, spiritual and cultural beliefs.
Staff use a trauma-informed approach to build trust and positive professional relationships. This helps women take part in programs and services that support rehabilitation and reduce the risk of reoffending.
