The roleDo you enjoy turning ideas into practical civil design solutions? Join our team as a Civil Designer and bring your technical skills, creativity and problem-solving ability to a diverse range of projects that help shape our community. The Civil Designer is responsible for the preparation of infrastructure designs suitable for delivery by both internal and external construction teams.
Utilising 12D and AutoCAD software packages, the position is involved in all stages of project development and delivery, including initial site investigation, concept development, detail design and preparation for certification through to providing technical advice to the construction and project management teams to ensure the successful delivery of works.
What we are looking forYou will have a minimum of two years' relevant working experience in engineering design and drafting with demonstrated experience in design drafting on civil-related projects.
You will have:Demonstrated understanding of the use of relevant Engineering Design StandardsProficient in use of AutoCAD and 12D softwareQueensland Construction Industry White Card, or National equivalentGood interpersonal skills, sound written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work well under pressure and deliver projects on time and as required by customer
A Queensland Construction Industry White Card (or National equivalent) and a current Queensland C class driver’s licence are essential for this role. Experience in undertaking civil technical investigations & experience in consulting with public and other government agencies is highly regarded but not essential.
You will be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident or have unrestricted work rights in Australia. You must be able to provide evidence that you can legally work in Australia upon request. Mareeba Shire Council does not offer employer visa sponsorship.
