The Role
Kablamo's People & Culture Consultant role is suited to someone looking for a People & Culture opportunity, where you'll bring your experience, passion, and know-how to help Kablamo and our team through growth.

The People & Culture Consultant will work closely with Kablamo's leadership group, comprising two Co-CEOs, Principals, Crew Leaders and Technical Leads. Together, this group sets Kablamo's strategic direction, attracts and retains the best talent in our industry, and guides our journey to greatness.
This is a true generalist role that provides exposure to a wide range of responsibilities in providing People and Culture support and expertise to Kablamo’s team in Australia and Canada.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition: Work with leads to attract and select the right people for Kablamo. They complete recruitment specifications in consultation with the business and use the e-recruitment system to support the recruitment process and ensure new hires are onboarded effectively into the organisation. They facilitate and conduct training with all new hires on Kablamo's ways of working. Talent Retention: They work closely with Kablamo crew leads to advise on learning solutions and identify, facilitate, and coordinate learning activities to help retain our team. They help create strategies to retain team members, from remuneration reviews to career development opportunities. Guide and coach leaders: Support leaders in developing and rolling out programs to support hiring, team development, designing and delivering learning programs, individual growth and development, and performance and HR issues. Handle sensitive issues and be a trusted advisor to our whole team. People and Culture administration: Help ensure our people & culture systems, processes, and data continue to support a great employee experience and help the company scale successfully. They ensure the accuracy of all employee data in relevant systems and keep information across all relevant HRIS systems up to date. Kablamo currently uses Employment Hero. They liaise with management and finance to ensure that Payroll records are accurate and up to date. They attend to general People and Culture queries from staff and leads. They process all employee record updates and oversee all People and Culture administration where applicable. Reporting: They provide the information and cooperation required for the administration, compliance, and security of accurate, timely, and complete People and Culture records. Employee Relations: They work with Kablamo leads to ensure compliance with legislation relevant to employee relations and can work through complex people issues. They document and process all administration linked to employee terminations, including minutes, recordings, agreements, etc. They stay current on state and federal employment laws and regulations and use this knowledge to advise leads and employees to ensure fair and equitable practices. Performance management: They manage the Kablamo performance management process and can train new employees on it. They provide ongoing support for the annual and performance review processes. They work closely with Leads to help set smart key performance indicators for employees where applicable. Reward and remuneration: They work closely with the leadership team to obtain information about salary benchmarking and advise accordingly. They support leads and help administer and coordinate the annual salary review process. Recognition/Diversity Program: They assist with coordinating the Kablamo recognition program, diversity, equity, inclusion, and reconciliation action plan. Events preparation: They assist in planning and organising Kablamo events, including Christmas parties, Leadership offsites, and the Back to Base Meeting.Information Security Responsibilities:Identify and manage security risks within the scope of the role, ensuring compliance with defined security controls, escalating emerging threats to the Risk Manager and Senior Leadership Team, and supporting the continuous improvement of security practices.Oversee key employee lifecycle security processes, including background checks, contract management and secure off-boarding procedures.Maintain and enforce essential governance documentation, such as the organisation chart, job descriptions and the code of conduct.Administer the company's security policies (e.g., data classification, acceptable use) and manage insurance policies to mitigate organisational risk.Uphold responsibility for the performance, review, and ongoing management of all assigned HR, governance and policy-related controls.
Required Skills And Experience
3+ years in HR/People & Culture roles in the Technology or Professional Services Industry)End-to-end recruitment and talent acquisition, including for technical/engineering rolesOnboarding and induction program design experienceCompensation and benefits structuring, including benchmarking for tech/consulting talentEmployee relations and workplace investigationsAustralian employment law and Fair Work compliance (awards, National Employment Standards, unfair dismissal risk)Policy development (leave, flexible work, code of conduct, WHS)HRIS/People systems administration (e.g., Employment Hero, Workday, or similar)The ability to build and measure a strong workplace culture, not just administering HRExposure to distributed/remote teams across multiple locations (Sydney/Melbourne/Toronto or similar)Leadership coaching, development and mentoring experienceStrong communication, presentation and relationship-building skillsDesire to work in a fast-growing, agile business and to handle the ambiguity that comes with a tech scale-up company
Desirable Skills And Experience
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
