About the RoleWe’re looking for a full-time Structural Engineer to join our Melbourne-based team (CBD Office).
This is a hands-on engineering role with real responsibility. Be part of a small, high-performing team, where your work is visible and your input matters. Reporting to an experienced engineering lead, you’ll play a key role in the design of supporting structures for non-structural services, including seismic restraints, prefabricated frames, and systems designed to withstand fatigue and blast loading. It’s a role where structural smarts meet mechanical know-how, and where your work will have real-world impact.
You’ll:Design and deliver complex structural solutions across a range of projectsPrepare proposals and help define scope and feesPrepare and review calculations, drawings, and technical documentationWork with tools like SpaceGass, Ideastatica, FEA software, and RevitReview shop drawings, connections, and temporary worksAct as a trusted technical advisor to clients, to solve problems and provide practical, compliant solutionsAttend site as needed (not excessively)Support project delivery including scope, timelines, and budgetsContribute to improving how we design and deliver workSupport junior team members as neededChampion our values: Trust, People-first, Humility, Solution-focused, Fun, in everything you do
What you’ll bringDegree in Civil/Structural/Mechanical EngineeringAt least 2 years experience in structural design within Australia, including steel designStrong understanding of Australian standards, codes and safety regulations (including AS 4100)Experience with structural analysis and modelling tools, including FEAA knack for creating clever, value-driven designs, balancing performance, cost, and buildabilityPractical experience with structural inspections and certificationsConfidence reviewing drawings, solving site issues, reporting and certificationClear communication skills (both written and verbal) and confident in speaking with clientsOrganised and dependable, you know how to manage time across multiple projectsAbility to think in practical, buildable solutionsOwnership of your work
Bonus points for:Confident using Bluebeam Revu to mark up drawings and collaborate efficientlyExperience with Autodesk Revit or other 3D design toolsBasic Python scripting for automation or analysis
