About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented, organised and proactive Logistics Allocator to join our team in Merbein.
Reporting to the Transport Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient allocation of transport resources, including vehicles and drivers, to support timely and cost-effective delivery operations.
You will work closely with drivers, warehouse staff and internal teams to coordinate daily transport activities, respond to operational challenges and help ensure a reliable service for our customers.
Allocate vehicles, drivers and equipment according to daily operational requirements.
Plan and optimise delivery routes to support safe, timely and efficient transport operations.
Coordinate closely with drivers, warehouse teams and other internal stakeholders.
Monitor deliveries and adjust routes or schedules where required due to delays, traffic or other disruptions.
Support high levels of customer service by proactively resolving transport-related issues.
Ensure transport activities are carried out in line with company policies, safety requirements and relevant industry regulations.
Maintain accurate records of schedules, routes, delivery status and operational incidents.
Assist with reporting on logistics performance, including on-time delivery and operational efficiency.
Respond to issues such as vehicle breakdowns, staffing challenges and route delays while minimising disruption.
Identify opportunities to improve resource allocation, efficiency and transport processes.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Previous experience in logistics, transport, supply chain operations or a similar environment.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to work effectively with drivers, warehouse teams and other departments.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
Familiarity with logistics systems, route-planning tools or similar technology.
An understanding of transport regulations and safety requirements.
Competence with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
