About the role
Scribble is an award-winning independent children’s book imprint based in Brunswick. We publish eight to twelve titles a year, working closely with our writers and illustrators from first sketch to finished object, with design and creative collaboration at the centre of all we do. We are looking for someone to manage how our books reach readers, teachers, and Australian librarians and booksellers.
Reporting to the Publisher, you will:Run publicity campaigns for each new title — pitching, press releases, media kits, launches and festivalsRun our social media — deciding what we post, where, and how our books and creators are representedWrite and send our consumer and trade newslettersLead outreach to school libraries, library systems and bookshops, including teacher notes, awards and reading challenge submissions.
You will bring two to four years in book publicity, publishing marketing, or arts communications, real knowledge of children’s books and illustration, and writing that moves easily between a media pitch and an Instagram caption. You should be confident making your own assets — Canva at minimum, Adobe Creative Suite an advantage — working under the oversight of our art director.
Minimum two days working in-house from our Brunswick offices.
Part-time, three days per week (0.6 FTE, 22.8 hours)$68,000–$73,000 per annum full-time equivalent, depending on experience ($40,800–$43,800 pro rata at 0.6 FTE) plus 12% superannuation
Applications close 24 August. Full position description available upon request.
To applySend a CV and a covering letter to guy@scribepub.com.au by August 24 2026. Your letter should address the selection criteria and, where you can, point to examples of relevant past work — campaigns you have run, coverage you have secured, accounts you have grown. If you would like to talk about the role before applying, get in touch at the same address.
