Qualified Baker/Bakers Assistant

As a Qualified Baker at Bakers Delight, you will be responsible for

• Baking and presenting quality product to meet changing customer needs.

• Coaching and supporting the development of Apprentices.

• Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the bakery.

• Assisting with stock control and production expenses.

• Providing delightful customer service when required.

• Preparation and production of quality bakery products to Bakers Delight as per BDH recipe.

• Weighing flour and other ingredients to prepare dough.

• Operating machines and tools to prepare bakery products.

• Decorating baked goods with glazes, icings, and edible toppings.

• Maintaining a cleanliness of machines, tools and premises and abide by company policies and procedures in relation to WHS (Workplace Health and Safety) and Food Safety to ensure a safe working environment for customers, staff and contractors.

To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate the following;

• Strong knowledge of deck ovens & baking.

• Experience with sourdoughs, hand molding, shaping, cutting breads

• Mixing experience and understanding the process of sourdough and yeast doughs.

• Sound knowledge in weighing ingredients for different type of bread and pastry.

• Knowledge in a wide variety of different type of flours and seeds.

• At least 1.5 years' experience in the industry.

• Ability to work in a well-established team with efficiency and consistency.

• Have an eye for detail.

• Strong leadership skills.

• Strong work ethic.

• Sense of humor.

• A willingness to learn and learn FAST.
