ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking a worker who is skilled in providing specialist support and collaborative case management to children and young people, in close collaboration with their mother/carer. The successful applicant will be willing to attend further training in using a domestic violence informed, trauma-informed and strength-based approach in their work with children and young people.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

• Ability to work with Aboriginal and CALD women and children in a culturally sensitive way
• Experience working with families who have experienced domestic violence
• Understanding of the impacts of domestic violence on children and parenting relationships and the type of support needs that arise as a result
• Proven experience/ ability to provide case management including direct support, assistance and advocacy for women and children
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, other services, and government agencies
• Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs
• Availability to participate on an on-call roster
• Willingness to undertake training
• Current NSW drivers’ licence.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

• Current First Aid certificate

Based on 35 hours week pay range for Level 4 Paypoint 1 $92,292 to Paypoint 4 $99,300 plus 10% superannuation and Salary Sacrifice offered.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Confirmation of employment will be subject to candidate's possession of a Current Australian Drivers Licence, Working with Children Check, completed Australian Criminal History Check and provision of COVID-19 vaccination certificate, in line with the DV West COVID Business Continuity Plan, or valid medical exemption, to comply with DV West’s Work Health and Safety requirements
