About the role
We are seeking experienced, confident and resilient Disability Support Workers who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and supporting people with complex medical, behavioural and personal care needs.
This is not an entry-level support role. We are looking for people who genuinely enjoy working in complex care environments, can think on their feet, and remain calm, professional and compassionate when situations become challenging.
You will be supporting two young males in a SIL environment, providing high-quality, person-centred support throughout the day and night.
The role involves a high level of hands-on support, personal care, manual handling and active engagement, with individuals who have complex support requirements.
You may be supporting individuals with:
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Non-verbal communication
High medical and physical support needs
Manual handling and mobility support
Personal care, including showering, toileting and continence care
PICA and associated safety risks
Seizure management
Self-harm behaviours
Behaviours of concern and complex support needs
Restrictive practices, in accordance with individual support plans and NDIS requirements
Fast-paced and unpredictable situations requiring immediate response and sound judgement
We are looking for support workers who are experienced, proactive and comfortable with complex care.
You will need to be someone who:
Has previous experience supporting people with complex medical needs and behaviours of concern
Is confident providing hands-on personal care and manual handling
Understands the importance of following support plans, behaviour support plans and restrictive practice requirements
Can remain calm and composed during seizures, incidents, escalations and other high-pressure situations
Is physically capable of undertaking the hands-on requirements of the role
Is observant and able to identify changes in presentation, behaviour or health
Can communicate effectively with families, colleagues and other members of the support team
Is reliable, punctual and able to work independently while also being a strong team player
Understands professional boundaries, dignity, privacy and person-centred practice
Is willing to complete specialised training and continuously develop their skills
6:00am – 2:00pm
2:00pm – 10:00pm
10:00pm – 6:00am or 8am Active/Awake
$38+ per hour casual rate (based on experience)

Current Blue Card
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
Completion of the NDIS Quality, Safety and You module
Current First Aid and CPR certification
Previous experience supporting individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviours
Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and responsive in high-pressure situations
Current Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
