Your New Role:
The Deputy Systems Engineering Manager is accountable for ensuring the successful delivery of all systems engineering activities in accordance with contractual requirements. This role provides hands-on leadership and coordination across all engineering disciplines, encompassing both HDA and its subcontractors. Acting as the primary engineering interface with the customer, the Deputy Systems Engineering Manager must possess a comprehensive understanding of systems engineering processes, as well as extensive knowledge of ASDEFCON Complex contracting frameworks and obligations
Your Primary Areas of Responsibilities:
Assist the development, preparation, and on-time delivery of all the project Engineering artefacts.Ensure the project engineering activities are completed within agreed schedules and budgets.Coach, mentor, motivate, and direct the project’s Engineering staff.Oversee Systems Engineering Process, ensuring that all engineering activities are conducted in accordance with the process and the plan.Oversee System Safety and ensure safe engineering work practices are paramount and implemented for the project.Conduct regular progress meetings in addition to design/technical meetings and provide reports on systems engineering activities status.Work with all contributing parties, including our subcontractors, to ensure the quality of all deliverables and exchanges with the customer are exceptional.
Note: The Deputy Systems Engineering Manager may be required to travel to subcontractor and test locations which may be within Victoria, Interstate, and Internationally.
About You:
Qualifications:
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering.
Experience:
Significant experience in Systems Engineering roles within the Defence industry, preferably based around delivering complex large-scale programs.
Skills and Key Attributes:
Proven ability to influence technical and project engineers. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Effective communication and collaboration abilities.Proven ability to effectively manage relationships and positively resolve disputes with internal/external stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work under tight deadlines without compromising quality.Flexibility and adaptability, as you’ll be expected to quickly pivot and respond to changing priorities and dynamic work environments.Attention to detail: Meticulous approach to work, with the ability to identify potential risks and issues proactively. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.Ability to solicit, support, and coordinate efforts of diverse teams of technical and functional experts.
Eligibility:
