About The Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our Personal Injuries team in North Queensland. In this role, you will provide administrative support, ensuring efficient operations and maintaining a professional environment across our Townsville, Cairns and Darwin locations. You will be based in Townsville servicing our other offices remotely.

What You Will Be Doing

First point of contact for client enquiries, professional, prompt, and helpful. Keep clients in the loop with clear, timely updates. Support client files from start to finish. Prepare correspondence, legal documents and court materials. Manage diaries, appointments and meetings. Process mail and correspondence. Handle client billing and related admin. Support the legal team with general administrative tasks.

About You

Previous experience as a Legal Assistant is desirable, but not essential, perhaps you have been in a similar support or administrative role. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues. Outstanding organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities. A trustworthy, professional approach to handling confidential client information. A genuine learning mindset, you’re eager to expand your knowledge and skillset. Comfort with legal technology and AI tools, or enthusiasm to build proficiency quickly. An interest in commercial awareness, understanding how matters run efficiently for clients. A proactive approach to process improvement, you’re someone who spots better ways of doing things and isn't afraid to suggest them.
