Based in Bayswater, WA, WAICE operates a large-capacity facility providing 24-hour, 7-day-a-week service to meet demanding turnaround requirements. Team members contribute directly to fast, reliable output for clients across heavy industry, mining, and related sectors. The company values safety, quality workmanship, and long-term relationships with customers and employees.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Welder role located at WAICE’s Bayswater, WA premises. The Welder will perform high-quality welding on hydraulic cylinders, associated components, and heavy-duty equipment, following engineering drawings, specifications, and safety standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing materials, setting up welding equipment, carrying out MIG/TIG and other relevant welding processes, and inspecting completed work for accuracy and structural integrity. The role also involves collaborating with machinists, fitters, and other workshop team members to support overhaul and repair jobs, contributing to efficient turnaround times. The Welder will maintain a clean and safe work area, adhere to OH&S requirements, and participate in continuous improvement of workshop processes.Qualifications Strong welding skills in relevant processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, stick), with ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans.Experience working with heavy-duty components, hydraulic cylinders, or similar industrial equipment in a workshop or manufacturing environment.Proficiency in using welding and cutting tools, basic hand and power tools, and measuring equipment to ensure accurate and safe work.Solid understanding of workplace health and safety practices, including safe handling of materials, equipment, and adherence to OH&S procedures.Attention to detail, quality-focused mindset, and ability to identify defects, measure tolerances, and complete thorough visual inspections.Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and follow job instructions and work orders.Relevant trade qualification or welding certification, and ability to obtain or maintain any required industry tickets or licenses.Previous experience in mining, heavy industry, or maintenance environments is advantageous, as is familiarity with 24/7 or fast-turnaround operations.
