CNC Wire EDM Operator / CNC Machinist

About the role

This is primarily a Wire EDM programming, setup and operating role, with CNC milling and general toolmaking also forming part of the position. Experience with Sodick Wire EDM machinery will be highly regarded.

Key responsibilities

• Programming, setup and operation of Sodick CNC Wire EDM machinery

• Manufacture of precision tooling and components to tight tolerances

• Programming from engineering drawings and technical specifications

• Proving programs and carrying out first-off inspections

• Precision measurement and quality inspection

• Troubleshooting machining and tooling issues

• General toolmaking and precision machining

• Maintaining machinery, tooling and a safe work environment

About you

• Proven Wire EDM programming, setup and operating experience

• CNC machining experience within a toolroom or precision manufacturing environment

• Australian-recognised 1st Class Machinist / Toolmaker qualification

• CAM programming experience

• Ability to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances

• Experience with precision measuring equipment

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship

• Ability to work independently and within a small team
