About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Forklift Operator to join our team in Portsmith, Cairns (QLD). This is a full-time, permanent position, ideal for someone with experience in the transport and logistics industry who values safety, teamwork, and efficiency in a fast-paced freight environment.

• Permanent full-time role with stable hours (Monday to Friday – 8:00am starts)

What You'll Do

• Safely load and unload general freight vehicles using a forklift.

• Sort, scan, and stage freight for local, regional, and interstate movements.

• Ensure freight is handled safely and securely to prevent damage.

• Verify freight documentation and assist with freight checks as required.

• Support vehicle loading activities and maintain load integrity.

• Report any freight discrepancies, damage, or equipment issues promptly.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised operational area.

• Work closely with drivers and operations staff to ensure freight movements run smoothly.

What You'll Bring

• Current Forklift Licence (essential).

• Previous experience in the transport, freight, or logistics industry.

• Experience handling palletised and general freight.

• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety practices.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced operational environment.

• Reliable work ethic with a positive, team-oriented attitude.

• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
