Some days you’ll be installing solar and batteries. Some days you’ll be fault-finding something that “only stopped working after the last electrician touched it.” Other days you’ll be crawling through a Darwin roof wondering why you didn’t become an accountant.

That’s the trade.

Who Are We?

We’re No Hassalls, a locally owned electrical contracting business working across Darwin, Palmerston, Litchfield and remote areas of the NT.

We do residential and commercial electrical work, solar and battery systems, air conditioning and remote projects.

We’ve earned more than 350 five-star reviews. That didn’t happen because we asked our relatives to create fake Google accounts. It happened because our team turns up, communicates with customers and does quality work.

We’re growing, the work keeps coming in, and we need another qualified electrician who can pull their weight without needing their hand held.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing

The work is varied, but it isn’t random chaos.

You could be:

• Installing or upgrading switchboards

• Fault-finding electrical problems

• Completing residential and commercial projects

• Installing solar panels, inverters and battery systems

• Connecting and commissioning air conditioners

• Working on larger remote projects

• Testing, commissioning and documenting your work

• Taking job photos and writing notes that make sense to someone other than you

• Helping apprentices learn the right way to do things

• Speaking with customers without making the office nervous

You’ll work independently on some jobs and as part of a crew on others. There will also be opportunities for remote work, so you’ll need to be comfortable heading out bush when required.

We don’t care if you can recite the rule book backwards while standing on one leg.

We care that you:

• Turn up on time and ready to work

• Complete safe, neat and compliant installations

• Think through problems before ringing someone

• Ask for help before a small issue becomes an expensive one

• Keep customers informed

• Complete your job notes, photos and paperwork

• Look after the vehicle, tools and equipment provided to you

• Help the crew instead of watching everyone else work

• Own your mistakes and help fix them

• Leave the site cleaner than you found it

We don’t expect perfection. We do expect effort, honesty and accountability.

The Non-Negotiables

You’ll need:

• A current NT electrical licence

• A current Australian driver’s licence

• A Construction White Card

• Current CPR and LVR qualifications

• Solid electrical knowledge and fault-finding ability

• A good understanding of electrical safety and compliance

• The ability to work independently

• The willingness to travel for remote work when required

Experience with solar, batteries or air conditioning would be a big advantage. If you haven’t worked across all three, that isn’t a deal-breaker. If you’re switched on, we can teach you.

Reasons Not to Apply

This probably isn’t the job for you if:

• Your phone needs more charging during the day than your power tools

• “No one told me” is your favourite explanation

• You think job notes are just “all good, completed”

• Cleaning up is apparently an apprentice’s job

• You lose tools faster than Middy’s can sell them

• PPE only comes out when the safety inspector arrives

• Every mistake you’ve made was somehow someone else’s fault

• You’re a sensor light—plenty of movement until someone actually needs you
