Group IT Manager

The Opportunity:

This exciting opportunity is a full-time position and is open to be based out of either our Newcastle office or our Head office at Seven Hills. The Group IT Manager leads the Group’s Information Communications Technology (ICT) function and works with the business to recommend, develop and implement an ICT strategy aligned with the broader business strategy. The role oversees ICT systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, projects and support services to ensure secure, reliable and efficient technology solutions across the Group.

 The Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with the business to recommend, develop and implement the Group ICT strategy and technology roadmap in alignment with business strategy, operational requirements and future growth.

• Lead and manage the Group ICT function, including team capability, performance, workload, development, succession planning and delivery of ICT services across the organisation.

• Plan, manage and continuously improve the Group’s ICT infrastructure, systems, applications, communications, hardware, software and associated technology services.

• Maintain appropriate cybersecurity, DISP Compliance and information security and access controls to protect the Group’s systems, networks and information from internal and external threats.

• Obtain and maintain NIST SP800-171 / CMMC Level 2 compliance

• Establish and maintain ICT governance, policies, procedures, standards and controls to support business requirements, regulatory obligations and organisational risk management.

• Identify, assess and manage ICT operational, cybersecurity and technology risks, escalating material risks and recommending appropriate mitigation strategies.

• Develop, maintain and test ICT disaster recovery, business continuity and contingency arrangements to minimise disruption to business operations.

• Lead and coordinate ICT projects across the full project lifecycle, including scoping, planning, resourcing, implementation, testing, change management and post-implementation review.

• Ensure ICT projects and initiatives are delivered within agreed scope, timeframes, budgets and business requirements.

• Work collaboratively with business leaders and users to understand operational requirements, identify technology improvement opportunities and recommend fit-for-purpose solutions.

• Manage ICT support operations, service levels, escalations and recurring issues to ensure timely and effective support to users across the Group.

• Monitor ICT system availability, performance, capacity and support trends and implement improvements to maintain reliable and efficient operations.

• Manage the selection, performance and commercial relationships of ICT vendors, suppliers, carriers and service providers, including contracts, licensing and service agreements.

• Develop and manage the ICT operating and project budgets, forecasts and expenditure, ensuring appropriate allocation and control of resources.

• Maintain appropriate ICT asset, hardware, software and licensing registers and ensure technology assets are effectively managed throughout their lifecycle.

• Monitor technology developments and emerging risks and recommend opportunities that improve efficiency, security, capability or business performance.

• Provide ICT advice, reporting and recommendations to senior management regarding system performance, risks, projects, investment priorities and technology requirements.

• Promote continuous improvement across ICT operations and work collaboratively with other functions to improve systems, processes and organisational performance.

• Ensure ICT activities comply with applicable legislation, contractual requirements, corporate policies and relevant internal standards.

The Ideal Candidate:

Essential:

• Demonstrated minimum 5 years of experience leading and managing an ICT function and team within a multi-national, multi-site or complex business environment.

• Minimum 5 years of experience developing and implementing ICT strategy, technology roadmaps and improvement initiatives aligned with business objectives.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in leadership, stakeholder management, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Strong knowledge of ICT infrastructure, systems, networks, cybersecurity, Defence security, cloud technologies and user support services.

• Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA, including system administration, integration, implementation, optimisation and ongoing support within a business environment

• Must have or be able to obtain a Defence Security Clearance.

• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline.

• Relevant industry certifications in areas such as cybersecurity, Defence security, cloud technology, networking, IT service management or project management are desirable.

Desirable:

• Equivalent relevant experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications.
