Marine Trades Assistant / Junior Shipwright

About the role

We are looking for a reliable person to join our busy marine workshop in Taren Point. This position may suit a junior or apprentice shipwright, a boat polisher or marine detailer, a trades assistant with practical, hands-on experience, or someone new to the marine industry who is motivated and willing to learn. We can provide training in antifouling, hull preparation and other areas of marine work.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing hulls for antifouling

• Sanding and applying antifouling paint

• Boat polishing, cutting and detailing

• Fibreglass and gelcoat preparation

• Assisting with shipwright repairs and boat refits

• General boat maintenance

• Workshop preparation and clean-up

• Reliable and arrives on time

• Physically fit and comfortable with practical work

• Pays attention to detail

• Works well as part of a team

• Willing to learn new skills

• Has own reliable transport

• Has Australian working rights
