About the Organisation

The Multicultural Council of the Northern Territory (MCNT) is the peak body organisation that advocates for and provides direct services to individuals, families and communities from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds in the Northern Territory.

About the Role

The primary objective is to manage all business, systems, operations, strategies, finances, programs, services, operations, advocacy and staff of the MCNT and ensure that the organisation is consistently represented with a positive image.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

1. Maintain business operations and ensure quality BAU (Business as usual).

2. Develop, review and supervise the delivery of programs, events, services and policies.

Selection Criteria:

1. Tertiary qualification/s in Management, Business Administration, Community Services, or a related field or equivalent demonstrated senior management experience. Experience with MYOB preferred.

2. Proven experience in senior management or leadership roles, preferably within the community, not-for-profit or multicultural sector.

3. Minimum of 1-2 years of senior management experience is required.

4. Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting and grant funding.

5. Strong understanding of governance, compliance and reporting obligations.

6. Experience managing staff, contractors and workplace performance.

7. High-level written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and advocacy.

8. Demonstrated ability to work with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities.

9. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with CALD communities is required.

10. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities autonomously.

11. High-level computer literacy, including MS Office and online systems.

12. Current Police Clearance and Working with Children (Ochre Card), or willingness to obtain.

13. Flexibility to work after hours and weekends when required.

14. Current driver's licence and access to a personal vehicle.

15. Must have Australian work rights.
