Junior Accountant

This is a full-time, office based position in our newly renovated Martin Place office, with end of trip facilities, an in office barista, and complimentary breakfast snacks provided 5 days a week.

As the Junior Accountant you will:

• Perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.

• Assist with month end close activities, including accruals, prepayments, and general ledger oversight.

• Reconcile overhead and balance sheet accounts at month end, providing commentary and analysis on key movements and budget variances.

• Work closely with the Accounts Payable team to ensure invoices are accurately coded and processed to the correct general ledger accounts.

• Prepare monthly BAS workpapers for the consolidated group.

• Support the preparation of monthly management reports and 3-way forecasting.

• Reconcile and manage retention trust accounts in line with business requirements.

• Assist in the administration and management of bank guarantee and bond facilities for both subcontractors and clients.

• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support across the finance function as required.
  

What will make you stand out?

• 3-4 years' experience in a finance/accounting role.

• Experience working within the construction industry or a similar environment is desirable.

• Experience using Jobpac is highly beneficial

• A technology focused mindset, with an openness to adopting new systems, AI technologies and innovative ways of working

• High attention to detail with strong analytical and skills.

• Confident communicator and the ability to work collaboratively across the business.

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
