This is a full-time, office based position in our newly renovated Martin Place office, with end of trip facilities, an in office barista, and complimentary breakfast snacks provided 5 days a week.
As the Junior Accountant you will:
Perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
Assist with month end close activities, including accruals, prepayments, and general ledger oversight.
Reconcile overhead and balance sheet accounts at month end, providing commentary and analysis on key movements and budget variances.
Work closely with the Accounts Payable team to ensure invoices are accurately coded and processed to the correct general ledger accounts.
Prepare monthly BAS workpapers for the consolidated group.
Support the preparation of monthly management reports and 3-way forecasting.
Reconcile and manage retention trust accounts in line with business requirements.
Assist in the administration and management of bank guarantee and bond facilities for both subcontractors and clients.
Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support across the finance function as required.
What will make you stand out?
3-4 years' experience in a finance/accounting role.
Experience working within the construction industry or a similar environment is desirable.
Experience using Jobpac is highly beneficial
A technology focused mindset, with an openness to adopting new systems, AI technologies and innovative ways of working
High attention to detail with strong analytical and skills.
Confident communicator and the ability to work collaboratively across the business.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
