About the role
Since our establishment in 1936, Cancer Council Victoria has developed an international reputation for our innovative work in cancer research, prevention and support. As an independent, not-for-profit organisation, we play a leading role in reducing the impact of all cancers on all people.
Division summary
The Prevention Division aims to prevent cancer for all Victorians. This is done through community interventions, mass media, advocacy, training and providing policy advice based on the best available evidence. This involves action to affect individual behaviours and the broader physical and legislative environment to reduce cancer risk. We prioritise health inequalities, especially in relation to Aboriginal people, and in culturally diverse and socioeconomically disadvantaged communities.
Unit summary
SunSmart is an evidence-based internationally renowned skin cancer prevention program, which aims to improve skin cancer prevention awareness, knowledge, attitudes and behaviour; support early detection of skin cancers; and advocate for policy and other measures to reduce the health and economic burdens of skin cancer.
About your opportunityWe are seeking a SunSmart Coordinator to join the Prevention Division. Reporting to the SunSmart Programs Manager you will play a key role in coordinating the delivery of the Dermoscopy for Victorian General Practice Program and supporting other initiatives that strengthen the health workforce's capacity in skin cancer prevention and early detection.
