The Digital Mental Health Program - eheadspace provides online mental health and wellbeing support via online and phone to young people and families across Australia.

what you'll do

As a Mental Health Clinician at eheadspace, you will work in a fast-paced, productive and fully remote environment, supporting young people and their families from across Australia. You will deliver phone and online care that is accessible, inclusive, developmentally appropriate and evidence based. You will support young people and families with mild and evolving mental health presentations and work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including working alongside Peer Workers.

Working in this role, you will:

• Provide phone and online mental health and wellbeing support to young people and families across Australia.
• Use evidence-based, client-centred approaches to build effective therapeutic relationships in a digital environment.
• Assess and respond to a range of mental health presentations, including mild to more complex needs
• Work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including alongside Peer Workers.
• Participate in supervision, reflective practice, continuous learning and professional development.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately while navigating complex care systems and supporting safe, quality care.

Shift options include:

• Two fixed team-based shifts Monday to Friday, with shift times including 2.30 pm - 10.30 pm, 4.00 pm - 12.00 am from April to October, or 5.00 pm - 1.00 am from October to April.
• All rosters include at least one weekend shift per fortnight.
• All shift times are in Melbourne time.

This position involves supporting young people and families experiencing complex and sometimes distressing circumstances. While meaningful and rewarding, the work can be emotionally demanding, and we encourage applicants to consider their personal capacity for this type of role.

what you'll bring

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• You will bring an interest in supporting young people in an online environment, strong clinical judgement and a commitment to safe, inclusive and evidence-informed care.
• Ability to commit to a roster of afternoon and evening shifts with good availability to work across the week.
• An approved tertiary qualification in an allied health discipline, including social work, psychology, mental health nursing or occupational therapy; or a Masters in Counselling with minimum Level 3 ACA membership or equivalent Clinical membership with PACFA.
• Eligibility for membership of an appropriate professional body. Social workers are required by the Australian Government Department of Health to be eligible for full membership with AASW. Psychologists, mental health nurses and occupational therapists are required to have full registration with AHPRA.
• For candidates with a Masters in Counselling, eligibility for full professional registration at a minimum of Level 3 within the Australian Counselling Association scope of practice guidelines or equivalent Clinical membership with PACFA.
• Strong communication and clinical skills, with the ability to build effective therapeutic relationships and work with confidence and compassion.
• Commitment to continuous learning, reflection and supervision.
