We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Full-time Pastry Cook to join our busy kitchen team. In this role, you will be responsible for baking our signature cake layers, preparing specialized fillings, and maintaining the flawless consistency that our local customers love. Key Responsibilities
Scaling, mixing, and baking a wide range of cake bases, pastries, and sponges according to established recipes. Preparing buttercream, compotes, ganaches, and other premium fillings. Managing inventory, ordering fresh ingredients, and minimizing kitchen wastage.
Ensuring strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and kitchen sanitation standards. Collaborating with our cake decorating team to ensure smooth daily production workflows. What
We Are Looking For (Requirements)
This position is ideally suited for an early-career trade professional looking to fast-track their skills in a premium commercial kitchen. Experience: Up to 3 years of professional baking experience in a commercial bakery, cake shop, or production kitchen (passionate recent trade graduates or newly qualified pastry chefs are highly encouraged to apply). Qualifications: Completion of an AQF Certificate 3 in Food Processing or equivalent recognised enterprise/industrial experience, training, or prior learning.
Skills & Knowledge: Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and clean work habits. Competencies: Proven ability to apply quality control techniques.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to inspect products and materials for conformity with established operational standards. Demonstrated judgment and decision-making skills.
Ability to work under general supervision, whether individually or in a team environment. Willingness to undertake structured training for further professional development. Attributes: Reliability, punctuality, and the physical stamina required for early morning baking shifts, alongside a genuine passion for baking and an eye for quality control.
