About the role
The Opportunity
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Facilities Project Delivery Manager is accountable for leading the end-to-end delivery of facilities projects and programs across Data Centre and MTX environments, ensuring initiatives are delivered safely, effectively and in alignment with business, network and operational priorities.
The role provides program-manager-level leadership for complex facilities delivery activity, including lifecycle replacement, resilience uplift, compliance remediation, capacity enablement, site upgrades, minor works, major maintenance and operational improvement projects across critical telecommunications facilities.
Responsibilities
Lead the planning and delivery of facilities projects and programs across Data Centre and MTX environments, ensuring outcomes are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.Develop integrated delivery plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, resourcing assumptions, cost estimates and governance routines for assigned initiatives.Provide delivery leadership across project teams, vendors, contractors, technical specialists and operational stakeholders to ensure clear accountability and effective execution.Deliver projects within live and mission-critical facilities environments, ensuring project activity is planned to protect safety, security, network availability and customer service continuity.Lead delivery of works relating to critical building services and supporting infrastructure, including power, cooling, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution, fire systems, environmental monitoring, access systems and building management systems.Translate business, operational, asset, compliance and network requirements into clear project scopes, delivery objectives, acceptance criteria and measurable outcomes.Lead project planning activity, including scope definition, options assessment, design coordination, delivery methodology, resource planning and sequencing of works.Establish project governance forums, reporting cadences, decision pathways, escalation processes and document control expectations.Manage vendor, contractor and supplier delivery performance across assigned projects, ensuring accountabilities, deliverables, commercial expectations and safety requirements are clear.Partner with procurement and commercial teams to support sourcing activity, scope development, tender evaluation, contract mobilisation and supplier onboarding.Facilitate effective communication across project teams, State Lead Facilities Managers, vendors, contractors, network operations, engineering, safety, security, finance and procurement.Ensure project delivery is planned and executed in accordance with health, safety, environmental, security, electrical, fire, building, change management and critical environment requirements.Coordinate commissioning, testing, acceptance and readiness activities to confirm delivered solutions are safe, compliant, reliable and fit for operational use.
Knowledge And Experience
Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in project management, program delivery, engineering, construction management, facilities management, building services, asset management or a related discipline.Significant experience delivering complex projects or programs in facilities, telecommunications, data centres, MTX, utilities, critical infrastructure, engineering or mission-critical environments.Strong understanding of critical facilities infrastructure including power, cooling, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution, fire systems, environmental monitoring, BMS, security and access systems.Experience with project governance, business cases, procurement, vendor management, commercial controls, delivery planning, change control, commissioning and handover.Strong commercial capability, including budget management, forecasting, cost tracking, purchase order management, variations, accruals and financial reporting.
Desirable
Experience delivering projects within telecommunications network facilities, MTX environments, data centre operations or other high-availability critical infrastructure environments.Project management certification or equivalent experience, such as PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, MSP or related delivery methodology.Experience with BMS, DCIM, SCADA, alarm management, facilities monitoring, work order systems, project reporting tools or similar operational technology platforms.Knowledge of contractor management, permit to work, critical environment procedures, maintenance governance, commissioning, operational readiness and change control frameworks.
