About the role
The company delivers landscapes grounded in ecological restoration, design thinking, and a deep respect for place. Our horticulture team cares for gardens as living systems, balancing amenity, beauty, plant health, and ecological function.
We are looking for a Horticulturist / Senior Horticulturist / Supervisor / Foreman to lead a small garden maintenance crew across a diverse range of Sydney gardens, from contemporary urban landscapes to native, ecological and habitat-focused spaces.
This role is ideal for an experienced horticulturist who wants to step into a leadership position, deepen their knowledge of native plants, and be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team working across horticulture, landscape construction, bush regeneration and ecological design.
What You'll Be DoingLead and supervise a small horticulture crew across regular garden maintenance projects.
Deliver high-quality garden care, including pruning, hedging, mowing, planting, weeding, mulching and seasonal maintenance.
Support the development of gardens as healthy, resilient and ecologically functional landscapes.
Build strong relationships with clients through clear communication and reliable service.
Mentor junior staff and help build their horticultural knowledge and confidence.
Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles and irrigation systems to a professional standard.
Work alongside company's landscape architecture, construction and bush regeneration teams where required.
3+ years' experience in horticulture, garden maintenance or a similar role.
Certificate III in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens, Conservation and Land Management, or equivalent experience.
NSW Driver Licence and Construction White Card.
Strong plant knowledge, with an interest in native species and ecological gardening.
Confident communicator with the ability to lead, organise and support a small team.
Physically fit, reliable, proactive and proud of quality work.
Keen to keep learning and contribute to a positive team culture.
What We Offer$38-$45 per hour, depending on experience
