About us:

The Nursing and Midwifery Education and Research Unit (NMERU) provides innovative education, training, and research support to nursing and midwifery staff across acute, specialist, community, urban, rural, and regional healthcare settings. Working collaboratively with nursing and midwifery leaders, neighbouring health services, and academic partners, NMERU delivers simulation-based learning, educational outreach programs, student placement support, and research opportunities that align with organisational priorities and promote excellence in patient care, workforce development, and evidence-based practice.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will.....

• Work collaboratively with the Nurse Educator Clinical Placements and Nurse Unit Managers, Nurse Educators, and other key stakeholders to maintain safety standards in patient care.
• Provide effective and efficient supervision and apply evidence-based practice principles in clinical education while providing leadership to nursing and midwifery students in the area of clinical allocation
• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate the nursing and midwifery students' orientation day and induction into the clinical areas and Inservices for the learners, in collaboration with the Nurse/Midwifery Educators and Nurse/Midwifery Unit Managers
• Promote effective working relationships between clinical divisions, Education partners, and Queensland Health.
• Effectively manage self-development and work with the Nurse Educator Clinical Placements to meet and facilitate the needs of the learners.
