Role DescriptionThe Site Engineer / Junior Project Manager is a full time position based in Melbourne, Victoria, involving a combination of site based and office based work.
In this role, you will support the planning and delivery of civil infrastructure and engineering projects across Melbourne and regional Victoria.
Your responsibilities will include assisting with site inspections, monitoring day to day construction activities, reviewing workmanship and quality documentation, and supporting the coordination of contractors, consultants and project stakeholders.
You will assist with the preparation of technical documentation, project correspondence, progress reports, registers and project controls. You will also support the management of project schedules, risks, actions, costs and deliverables.
Depending on your experience, you may also be involved in design reviews, constructability assessments, tender preparation, procurement activities, contractor management and reviewing engineering documentation.
The role requires someone who is comfortable working across both construction sites and office environments, can communicate confidently with contractors and clients, and is willing to take ownership of assigned tasks.

Qualifications and ExperienceWe are looking for someone who demonstrates the following: • A minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience is required, including practical exposure to construction activities, site coordination and contractor interfaces. • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, contractors, consultants and other stakeholders. • An understanding of quality assurance and quality control processes, including inspections, ITPs, hold points, non conformances, site records and documentation of construction issues. • Knowledge of civil and/or structural engineering principles, including an understanding of design intent, constructability and structural integrity considerations. • A degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline. • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, technical reports and construction documentation. • An understanding of project planning, programming, risk management, reporting and project controls. • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. • A practical and proactive approach to problem solving. • A strong commitment to workplace health and safety and the ability to work responsibly in both site and office environments. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. • Experience with project scheduling, document control or project management software will be highly regarded. • Familiarity with Australian Standards, Victorian infrastructure requirements and relevant legislation and regulatory requirements will be highly regarded. • A current Victorian driver licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required is preferred.
